divvy simmer ring on military trangia?

    Hiya,

I bought a civvy simmer ring for my military trangia, it fits but there isn't much room between it and the jets, it seems to put the flame out. I know there is confusion as to weather the civvy ring will fit, mine does but doesn't seem to work! Any idea's?

I have heard of people making their own simmer ring, using the end of a small tin can, with the lid (cut from the other end) riveted on in the same fashion as the proper simmer ring. This has been a niggle for a while now, not having a commonly available simmer ring for the military Trangia and Svea burners.

How about finding a tin screw on lid that fits the over the burner and cut a hole in it and see if it works
