Been to Portmore many a time, but sadly nothing remains of the great places built by the Conways and then owned by the Hertfords, legends about the place still exist especially the old deerparks of Portmore and Tunny.

    Disturbing is right Jus.
Same old story, poor country..huge resource..way out of poverty.
The answer Imo is..we pay them to manage the resource for all our benefit.

Despite ones own feelings who are we to demand what they do to their own country? Our own Government is proposing to destroy numerous ancient woodlands to build the new HS2 rail link. This in a country that has the lowest woodland covered land mass in Europe.

Exactly! Sod the wasted billions on third world aid and spend some decent money helping our geographical and cultural neighbours to bring their countries along without totally destroying their natural resources. This ancient woodland must be saved and in my meagre opinion it should be encouraged to expand too.
We owe the debt of our blood to our ancestors and our skills to their perserverance.
