    Another use for birch bark

I took a stroll down by the beach, and came across an old, worn down boat house...the door had collapsed so I went inside, and found this to take a picture of.

A nice picture. But it's worth came when I showed it to an elder gentleman at work in an enlarged version, and he commented on this part, on the top of the net.

Those are net floats made from rolls of birch bark. I did not even know people had used that. But here is evidence. Fantastic find in my opinion. :-)

That's awesome!! Wonder if a birch bark float would work with the Handline I ordered from Mr Fish last night?!
