A bit of fencing work.. pic heavy.

I am working for the farmer next door at the mo, doing a load of fencing for him up a valley. I love doing this job, its hard work, but its great being out in a remote location on your own.
The new fence is to go on the boundary, which is mostly between two streams with an old Cornish hedge between. The old hedge is just a mere hump now with a load of trees growing out of it. I have to go in with the chainsaw first to clear a line for the fence, then bang in the posts every four ish meters, then strain up the stock fence as best as. Jobs a goodun. I got a few hundred meters to do, so I don't think I will finish it this week.

I have been taking a load of pics of stuff that interests me, so I thought you guys might wanna nosey.. Sorry its only an old camera phone..

Many of the trees are growing in weird shapes, trying to reach the light..

And white on the other.. It must of been sat half in and half out of the water I reckon.

A badger skull I found in the stream.. You want this one Adrian..? Its in better condition than the one I sent you..


Its impossible to do a straight bit of fencing on a job like this..


It should keep the sheep in though..


This must of been the inlet for the ram pump..


This was an interesting bit of the stream.. A large tree had fallen some years ago which has caused the stream to back up and eventually have two different levels..


Thats it for now, but I may get some more pics tomorrow as I work my way up the streams..

Thats really good Jonny with a nice area to work in, better than the 5 strand barb wire fence that i put up today.

Barbed wire is nasty stuff eh Ian. I got to do a strand or two on the top of this fence. I normally get given second hand stuff that been coiled up and I have to uncoil it.. Nasty..!

I am looking forward to getting back down there tomorrow. I have been doing the sawing in the morning so I have a quiet afternoon fencing, though the post rammer can hurt your ears sometimes..
