Here's where I use the loops, through the end channel of the hammock. DD hammocks also sell the drip rings, £7.50 a pair.
You could just as easily use a carabiner or soft shackle.
Have fun with your Amsteel and once you suss it, get a few meters of zing it / lash it and try it with that if you are feeling brave !!
