    Beaufort Scale and dog's ears

I took my son's mutt out for a walk earlier and due to the wind, her ears were flapping big time. I feel strongly that the Beaufort scale must be changed to include this effect.

Here's a pic of Daisy (complete with toy piggy)...

being the owner / handler of a Border Collie I cant use ears to determine wind speed as they stick straight up, however his fur is usually a good indicator.

In fact it is a good weather indicator.

If its wet its raining, if its white its snowing, if its dry its dry, if its stiff its cold, if he's inside its sunny.....

    12 Hurricane.

Very widespread damage to vegetation. Some windows may break; mobile homes and poorly constructed sheds and barns are damaged. Debris and unsecured objects are hurled about.

The leads of small dogs will be parallel to the ground as both the dog and its ears flap about.
