Hi Al i live in a little mining village in the northeast been 'down the woods' all my life doing all this stuff before it was called bushcraft. I like nothing better than making my own gear and to that end i have a large workshop in the garden, i have been collecting tools for well over 25yrs so if i need something i can usually make it.
I got my name Magnet from my wife cos if i see a bit of scrap i've got to pick it up for me pile in the shed its amazing how many projects have come out of that pile over the years!
Near where i am there are lots of rivers and woods so i have a few places to go to get away most Sunday mornings i have a fire at a favorite spot make a brew and have a bit of a mouch with the dog it sets me up nice for a week at work.Once again thanks for having me.....Magnet

Welcome mate, its great to have you on the forum. Nice to hear you have plenty of experience of making your own gear, we are always waiting in anticipation for the next invention.

    Cheers Neil

Yup Im the same . I would rather build something than pay for it Its way more fun and its a great feeling when it all works out.
I also pick up scrap when Im out walking the dog . The wife just shakes her head at me . But its all treasure in my eyes.
Great to have ye along and enjoy the fourms mate.

    Cheers
