Need a head torch (modest budget)

I bought a head torch from Hong Kong. You know, the 4,000,000,000 lumins for £3 including delivery job

Anyway it didn't even make it out of the house before the case snapped! I guess for the most part, the saying is true, you get what you pay for!

...Does anyone have a modestly priced head torch they are very happy with that they wouldn't mind giving me a heads-up on please?

Another head torch that looks good is the Alpkit Gamma . I have not used one but for £15 it might be worth a go

    Sorry, too late

I got one off e-bay that does me fine. I think it was this model (no connection to seller, etc.) Still goign strong after a year.

Alpkit Gamma has to be the absolute best value in headtorches around.
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy

    Alpkit gamma.
Bought one recently on a group buy and I'm well impressed.

The Alpkit ones are good, I don't like the battery pack on the back though, they remind me of my old caving Petzls which used to stretch after a few outings.

A basic Petzl Tikka will see you right

Similar to posted above, my lab ordered a bunch of the Engergizer Advanced headlamps about 7 years ago, only a few of us still have it (recently got in an order of Petzl Tikka lamps, I grabbed one to put in my toolbox), the Energizer work well, will wear out, but I just wish the order of light selections (spot/flood/spot&flood/red) was kinda reversed, put the red first, entire point of using red for nighttime use is to preserve night vision, but still, has served me well enough when running wires through the dark corners of aircraft.
