The US MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) have a heat packet that is water activated. It works ok if you don't mind cold food. I have a case remaining from all that were passed out after Hurricane Katrina. These were packaged in 1994, As you can see the candy is still looks fresh, it taste good also. Some of the ones with fruit packets are rather nasty, the peaches or pineapple is a dark brown color, the taste is ok if you can get by the rotten color. Here are a few photos of the heat packet.
I am beginning to think eating the 18 year old chocolate was not a good idea, Feeling a little ill, If I don't post again, it has been nice knowing you guys....
