    You have done some stunning work Tony, those pics show the wide range of skills you have. I'm very interested to hear what you have in mind to get the price down to £51? Cheers.

    Andy the place that I recommend you have a look at for you'r bits is www.english-handmade-knives.co.uk it's run by Chris Matthews,I have no affiliation with the site apart from buying some gear off him,if you log on then go to his on line shop I think you will find most of the bits you need a lot cheeper,he got one bit that is all sheath makeing stuff,hope this helps with you'r new hobby.For needles I use tapestry one there blunt and they have large eye'syou get them on ebay under crafts.Any more help give us a shout Atb..........TONY.

    Heres another one for you

    I have used them in the past for tooling and leather when making stuff for the hawk. Good service and range.

    Thanks for the link Tony, some good stuff there, and the prices are reasonable. I only just noticed that the dyes are oil based whereas ones being sold on other sites are spirit based, so I'll definatly be buying from that link.

    Cheers Jus young, thats probably where I'll be buying my leathers from.

    Update; I started my tool buying, as well as scrounging from my tool shed. Its amazing how many tools I already have.

    So far I have bought;

    Safety ruler
    Cutting mat
    Hole Punches (cheap hilka set off ebay, not sure how good they will be)
    Nylon hammer 1.5 lb
    Small folding stanley craft knife (for fine work)
    Wad punch set (a bit of an impulse buy, but I have a great use for them)
    Spring caliper

    Things I found that I already have;

    Safety ruler (DOH...didn't even know I had one already)
    Awls
    Stanley knife and blades
    Tack hammer
    Tack lifter
    Hooked carpet knife

    Many of these tools are non specific, but I am selling some stuff on ebay right now that will pay for things like needles, stitch markers, groover, edge chamfer, dyes and daubers etc. ...and of course- leather. I'll be buying most of these bits and pieces through the site Tony reccomended.

    Thanks for the help guys.
