    If I'm honest, I never really started regularly lighting my fires with a fire steel until a couple of years ago. Before that, I always counted on matches or a lighter. More often than not it was a Bic and I still carry at least two as back ups. I like redundancy.

    I carry a zippo,had it eleven years now so it's a bit battered,but zippo do honour there life time warranty as I sent mine back to the states when I snapped the lid off and the fixed it for free. Any one know if you can stil get those little fuel capplets any more( used to look like "karvol" capsules?). Paul

    I finally got around to buying an IMCO

    but I also have these storm lighters about. I find it really handy for burning off oiled up spark plugs LINKY I think that I've got these in all our vehicles now

    I use zippo too. Had it sent to USA after i broke down my lid off and found out that Europian users has to send them to Germany
