Caring for your Axe with Wax

I made this quick video 2 or 3 years ago...



Someone left an interesting comment:

You can melt wax and add some olive oil to it and make a wax paste that it food safe and very easy to apply with a rag, you will have experiment with the ratio of oil/wax but once you get it right it will keep for a very long time and you can store it in a tin or small plastic pot and because it is a paste you can use it the handle as well as using it to reproof wax cotton jackets

Sounds clever! - I've never tried that before, anyone tried it? I'd love to know your experiences/uses.

When we used to get stuff out of storage it was always covered in some wax it was a nightmare to get of though
