    A great find

I found this when out recently, it's a great specimen, can you guess what it is?

Looks like one of those cauliflower funguses.
Do you want to be happy or do you want to be normal?

Cauliflower fungus. If I remember it is edible.

Looks like fool's gold to me.
If you stretch out both arms to represent all time on earth, then with one stroke of a nail file you could eradicate all human history, and 98 per cent of all human history was spent in the stone age.

Picture reminded me of: 'Hen of the wood's but I think it's probably cauliflower fungus as others have suggested.

    Thanks for sharing.

Sorry for missing this one folks. The pine needles behind the specimen are a good indicator of "growing location" for this one, and as Cauliflower Fungus grows at the base of pine trees, that would be my choice.

It is as most of you have already guessed, a cauliflower fungus, well spotted, fungi are often difficult to identify.
