Voyage of the Ant - James Dina
I picked this of the bookshelf to read it again last night and thought that it's such an excellent book that I should bring it to the attention of the forum.
The book tell the tale of how James Dina finds a way to travel through time to reconnect a little with the way the Native American Indians who lived along the Connecticut River. He does this by building a birch bark canoe to paddle upstream to Canada, living off the land as best he can and living the life of an self-sufficient traveler. Not only does he make the canoe himself, but he fabricates the stone tools required to make it!
All in all, an excellent way to spend some time.
