Meths Prices - Methylated Spirits
Where do you buy yours? I know prices can vary a lot so I am trying to help people by informing them of cheaper places to get it.
Today resnikov went shopping for some and found a 500ml bottle for £4! And rightly so he didn't pay that much.
I get my Meths from Trago Mills, 2 Litres for about £3.39, a much better price! Unfortunately Trago is only throughout the SW, UK, but do you have any tales of outrageous prices or know where's best to get a deal?
Anyone bought in bulk? industrial?
You can't beat Trago for Meths.
I needed some quickly and paid £2.99 at my local store. When i checked arround they were all about the same. Tesco, Co-op and Morrisons are all arround the £3 mark. Wilko was £3.38. Next time i am in Newton Abbott I will visit Trago.

I usually pick up a 5L tub from the local Mica Hardware store for around £13, it's not as cheap as Trago thoughCamping stores and the big shops like B&Q are a rip off, it's worth mooching about in smaller DIY shops and see what's about.
Methanol is apparently far better in a stove, I've not tried any yet but it's also cheaper than methylated spirits.
These guys are fairly reasonable but it's postage that gets you ..

Is there anything else that can be used in spirit burners? or is it just meths. I will have a look for methanol and try it in the garden first lol.

Picked up 5L today from Mole Valley Farmers, just under a tenner.
