Just wondered if any one could give an unbiased opinion of this site as I am considering visiting there next week?

This is a bit late...well, REALLY late, but me and my kids loved Glyn Y Mul, but as you're all probably aware they have closed as a campsite... however, I reckon if you drop them a line and waive their responsibilities they'd still let you camp in the woods... give 'em a holler, they're good people and can only say no...
The site has re-opened but you need to book in advance.

I had many trips there in the past. In the beginning there was dead wood everywhere but sadly 'bushcrafters' using multiple fires on the same trip depleted the wood stock to nothing in about a year. Its wet and boggy down by the river so I've give serious thought to taking along a pair of wellies. Its a lovely spot and I think Ian sells bags of wood but I'd take some along anyway, a big bag of charcoal helps the fires and take a stove of some sort for brews etc.
A friend on that trip used a hammock, his dog preferred my tent lol

In the winter they used to let the horses roam in there too.
Very boggy at this time of year though, not a place I'm in a hurry to re-visit except to see old Ted on the door!
What a guy!
