    Modifyed Opinels.

I decided i wanted an opinel that nobody else had. So that it was unique to me, i changed the shape of the blade and handle to how i wanted it..

The blades a bit dirty at the moment, need to clean it up. Some oil from the handle ran down.

Nice one mate I like what you done with the handle, I have a drop-point on my opinel as well I think it makes the knife look a wee bit better.

    Thanks Mouldsy!

I do like the drop point on them, one reason i changed the handle shape is because it got burned at the end lol

Great to see you customising your kit and making it your own

I really like what you've done with it. Is that an Opinel No.8?

    Nice one Edd.
I think if I had a go at doing something like this. I'd fail & make it look stupid.

    Haha
I don't think I will edit it... Maybe change the blade shape slightly... Dunno. Depends what I think when it comes in the post.

I've never tried an Opinel before. What do you guys think of their performance? Also, it is my understanding that the ring turns to lock the blade open. Have you guys ever had any trouble with it getting loose? I've been thinking of getting one for my son. Right now he has a small fixed blade in a scandi style that we built together from a kit I picked up from Ragnar's. Thinking of adding a good folder to it. Thanks for any info.

I think the opinels are a cracking knife i have a no10 which suits me but others might prefer the smaller type. They are like the mora's, cheap but you get real value for your money, i have never had any problems with the locking ring. I don't think you could get a better folder for your money.
