    Pump drill: Clever.
    Knocking it into the stream: Not so clever.

    I had not seen this. Nice to know there's an easier method if we need it.

    Just wondering if anyone has made/uses this method, and can it be made smaller enough so it can be carried and would a smaller version be useable ?.

    Yes Blu, I've seen and used a smaller version of this a couple of years ago. Didn't attempt to make an ember with is as it is a tricky skill to master but it you could see how it would be possible.

    Yes I've seen a smaller set used like this at the Bushmoot. I haven't tried this method yet myself.

    I had one at the gathering that I demonstrated with a few times. Great bit of kit and easy to use.
