Without even thinking about it the majority of us will carry a first aid kit due to the fact that we are likely to spend as much time as possible in the middle of nowhere. Our interest in bushcraft means that we use knives, axes, saws, pointy sticks and any other wonderful tools that we may consider useful. From other threads that have been posted I have seen pictures of various first aid kits from basic essentials in tins to different 'off the shelf' kits of differing sizes.
Whats in yours? Personally my kit started life as an off the shelf Lifesystems Mountain First Aid Kit, that is now discontinued as the new version is somewhat larger, but it contained something similar to this http://www.lifesystems.co.uk/psec/fi...st_aid_kit.htm
Over the years as items have past their best before date this has now evolved to contain:
100mm x 70mm self adhesive dressings
70mm x 50mm self adhesive dressings
assorted elastic plasters as the 'waterproof' ones are crap
antiseptic cream
finger bandage
micropore tape
triangular bandage
50mm x 4.5m crepe bandage
75mm x 4m stretch bandage
safety pins
latex gloves
scissors
pain killers
resuscitation face shield
tweezers
pencil.
Items like emergency blanket, glucose tablets, lip balm are carried with my first aid kit in my Snugpak Response pack. Additional items I am thinking of getting are steri strips and superglue as mentioned by Paul in another thread (good reminder) but I was interested on your choices and any particular reasons for your chosen items.
Regards
Jus.
