Jolly boys outing, Dartmoor in June (pic heavy)

During my last trip to Darters, Ivan and I set out across the moors for a 10 mile trek. I decided to take a full pack, as a little training for the upcoming Ten Tors challenge. Setting out from Lud Gate, along the roads toward Dean Wood, across Lambs Down, to Avon Dam, along to Huntingdon Cross, past Pupers, finally ending up back at Lud Gate. The walk took us only 3 hours, despite stopping for a twenty minute lunch stop. Basically covering the 7 mile walk we planned for the meet, plus an extra little bit.

Here's a few photos of before, during and after...

Notice my pack is bigger than Ivan's, even with my cooking gear out?...

The weather managed to hold out until around 21:00 that evening, but then it rained continuously for over 24 hours LOL. We were confined to the camp most of the day and still ended up getting soaked to the bone.
