Not been to Scotland since i was a lad, stunning place.
Thinking of taking my boys there this summer - Can anyone please tell where are the origional Caledonian forests are located?

Hi Klause, the Caledonian forest has all nearly vanished, there is still a large tract of original forest left which is situated to the west of Loch Ness in Invernesshire, there are various small remnants dotted around Scotland, the most southerly being around the area of Callander just north of Stirling, you can tell your in 'old' forrest by the scale of the trees and the 'look' of them they have a distinctly 'Jurassic park' feel.

Ballater or Bramar someplace like that .. Its beautiful there any time of the year.
