A Special Oak Spoon
On a visit to Wistman's Wood (Dartmoor) I picked up a piece of dead Oak and made a spoon.
The spoon is more ornamental than practical; more of a reminder of that special place steeped in myth and legend, I know the wood is ancient - the original wood that would have covered all of Dartmoor at some stage.
Beautiful work Ash. I hope i can get that good at carving.

Beautiful work Ash. I gather the Oak wasn't all that bad to carve then? Have an Oak tree in my small patch of woods that dropped some branches thinking of doing a couple spoons from it maybe even a Kuksa
