As we are members of Woodland Trust,we were sent a handy little booklet on tree identification. The booklets are very good so invested in some of the others - fungi, flowers and butterflies. They are ideal if you can get a copy of them as the pictures are pretty good and contain info such as leaves and winter twigs for the tree version and edible as well as poisonous fungi in one of the others.

The little swatch booklets are ideal for carrying when you are out and about. The kids love them as it gets them looking at things rather than just walking around blindly.

Think I'll order this. Creating my own and not infringing copyrights seemed like WAY to much work. Thanks everyone, ALL the links have been useful.

For the price of them, would you not be better off just buying the Colins Gem British Wildlife book? Pack sized has all the basic Flora and Fauna in it, perfect for your needs.

Or download each of these and laminate them.

There are loads at the nature detectives website - never under estimate the value in some of the kids trust websites, and if you have kids you don't feel so stupid using them.

Ahh that British wildlife book must be the ones my folks got from the national trust, think they put their own cover on it though. I like the kids books, they have better pictures and talk in a language even the inf can understand haha

It would be really good for schools to I think as the kids need to learn stuff like this and not half the stuff they get filled with
