You may have heard about the Norwegian slow TV concept, were our national broadcaster, NRK, sent minute by minute for about a week, the progress of a cruice ship along the Norwegian coast....or 7 hours of a trainride. More about it here:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/norways...ays-at-a-time/
Well, next summer the NRK is taking it to new heights. Our own nature here....They hare going to do expedition guru Lars Monsen - minute by minute.
Lars Monsen has ammong other things crossed Canada in the wild - took him 2years and 7 months (TV series), Crossed Alaska in the same fashion (10 months), Walked Norway from north to south (took a year, 3000 km), etc etc....
In Norway he is as big as Ray Mears.
Anyway here is what he says:
- In a regular TV show, maybe we only show five seconds of igniting a fire. Here we can risk that it takes an hour. Maybe it's raining and everything is wet, or I have to spend a lot of time to find enough wood. People will understand more, says Monsen, who will focus on learning what's needed to get out on a trip in the wild.
I'll let you know when it airs, so get your VPN connections to Norway sorted so you can watch it :-)
