Zulu the Donkey. Its spooky and rather unnerving but folk here start going on about Zulus and in a 13th Century church we visited on our walk yesterday was a picture of Zulu the Donkey.

'The donkey 'Zulu' earned fame (and his portrait hanging on the church wall) by plodding twice a day for many months bringing timber for the roof from Poriock. Stoke Pero is mentioned in the Doomsday Book' An extract from http://exmoorencyclopedia.org.uk/con...toke-pero.html

Well it was a good weekend with laughs a plenty. Exmoor in typical style threw everything at us but a blizzard and by the time we left today the water table and river level had risen considerably. Lakes were forming all around us, and underneath the sleeping mats! I really felt sorry for the 30 or so school girls that were training on the moor, they were seriously soaked by the time they arrived on the site Saturday evening and then off again early on Sunday for much of the same. Our walk through the woods was tame in comparison but it is a truly beautiful place to have a wander. Thanks for the weekend guys and see you again soon.

I think theres a few star trek repeats on if you know what I mean...

It rained, it hailed, it was cold, and towards the end I was pretty damp. But I loved every minute of it.

Yuk!! That looks like a sticky camp site. Glad you all had fun though. Did you stay for two nights??

Two nights it was. The first night wasn't too bad but the rain on night two was getting pretty heavy.
