    I used to use the bottom of a lighter when I was younger. Lever it with the thumb as fulcrum iirc. In fact the bottom of an opinel works well too. But it does get sore on the thumb after a few times.

    There is a warning on the linked page that some of the methods described could be dangerous. Please be sensible and if in doubt, buy your beer at a pub where they will not only open it for you, but will pour it into a glass too.
