    Cool Hello from Japan!

Hello fellow community members and bushcrafters.

I am Jason, but go by the SN Daedalus online. I am rather new to bushcraft, apart from my experiences as a Boy Scout back in America. As you can probably guess from the title, I am currently living and working in Japan! It is a wonderful place to be, although it has been rather difficult to find a community of outdoor / bushcraft enthusiasts like in America or UK.

I hope to learn much from all of you, and hope that I can contribute my limited knowledge to the community as well at some point.

    Cheers,

    Jason (Daedalus) M.

Thanks for the welcome, bopdude! I'm still trying to find a bushcraft group to adventure / learn with out here, so once I do I will definitely post quite a few!

Oh yes, quite a few high quality ones - though many are quite expensive. I somehow managed to get a very nice (and DAMN SHARP) butterfly knife from one of the more... shady knife shop owners nearby. Best part was, I bought a decorative Katana set for my livingroom here and he gave me the thing (literally under the counter!) for FREE! needless to say I came back and bought quite a few other knives from him after that. Got a nice hunting knife, a diving knife, a boning knife, and a few flip blades (all of which are completely illegal to carry in the city/town hahaha).

    Hi Jason.
    Welcome to the forum
Look forward to seeing and reading your trip reports .
I bet there's some beautiful spots for camping and hiking around there...
Even IF there's no group near you .

Best of lucks and welcome to the friendly forum.
    All the best
