    Axe Holder

I wanted a simple belt holder for my small forest axe. I also wanted something that would allow me to sit in a chair without it being uncomfortable (without the axe!)

So, I raided my bag of leather....

    I cut a strip 3cm x 60 cm

    Punched some holes in it...

Then I popped an eyelet in it to hold everything together....

My finger represents my belt and the axe handle drops into the loop.

I'll test it at the weekend as I'll be out in the woods. It may need slightly different dimensions, but I'm sure you get the idea.

I'll come clean Alan. This is the mark II. Mark I consisted of several bits of leather that were out-weighed by all of the eyelets!

I was out for Friday and Saturday night and so gave the holder a road test. When there's no axe, you can sit comfortably and you don't know the holder is there.

I got lucky first time with the placement on my belt and it was really comfy with the axe in place.

Thinking about it, an old belt would be ideal for making one of these.
