I use a poundland 'Sigg' style bottle. Works just fine, I also have a couple of the Swedish army 250ml ones very good too.
Headtorch, camera, phone, photon-light and a kindle sometimes.
Aye Kepharts a great outdoors writer, I really enjoyed 'Woodcradt and Camping' particularly. Had to chuckle as the questions he's addressing are the same ones you see on a regular basis on the forums...
Steve I cam across these snow shoes, thought of you :)
Cheers all,

Well the traditional gear is interesting and pretty appealing to my eye. But as you say its heavy and more work to get right, which in itself is rewarding. So I guess its a bit...
I had a great weekend! Went to nature reserve on friday and saw Emperor Dragonflys, went camping on saturday and a spot of fishing on sunday afternoon. All in the blazing sunshine, still content even...
I've got webbing and descender rings on one of my hammocks and woopies with tree huggers on my other. The woopies win hands down.
Adz I've got a couple of different hammocks with different suspension systems. If you ever want to try before you buy gimme a shout. Same goes for your sharpening stones thread, I've got ice bears...
It's true, the narrow rope can under tension cut into the trees nutrient mechanism in the inner bark, effectively 'ringing' the tree. Generally woopie slings are used in conjunction with tree...
I used Nikwax Tent & Gearproof spray on mine, worked fine.
Those exped pillows are nice looking, quite fancy one for tent camping. The old drybag with a jumper works fine but a little luxury never hurt anyone ;).
Never found I needed a pillow in my hammock Adz. If your 'asym' laying, the fabric at the head side comes up to make a comfy place for your head as is.
How about a small tarp for making dens and such?
Sounds like Toby then, ha small world and all that! Nice one :D
Hmmm good question, not set in stone for me; but something like this:
1) Hike
2) Find likely looking camp
3) Check for widow makers.
4)Brew
5) Set up tarp/tent/bivvy
6) Collect firewood

German Sheep Dog? It was a Springer of somesort IIRC, complete with flashing torch on his jacket. Scared the life out of me when he came tearing across the moor towards us in the dark!
Ah the plot thickens ;)...
Are the straps standard webbing size? You could always mod something pretty easily from an old rucksack straps.
If you like the idea of tarp tents, have you seen the Luxe Mini-peak II?
Sets up with just a walking pole, lots of room inside and pretty lightweight...

Banshee 200 is a top tent. A couple of my hiking buddies use them; cheap, not too heavy and tough.
Just takes 2 rucksack straps not a standard PLCE yoke...

Aye that's it, on Kinder. We actually got a visit from MR that night. They were on a training exercise and the dog sniffed us out, thinking we were the 'casualty'! Wasn't you was it :)?
Another vote for the Wild Country Zephyros, I have the 2 man version.

As stated a mobile should only be one tool in your safety precautions. But this video is worth a watch to make it a little more effective in some circumstances.

The only bushy related app I have is the OS Atlas. Gives you a road atlas, 1:50k and 1:25k OS maps of the UK for a couple of quid. It only works with WiFi but its handy to be able to plan route and...
