Blasphemy! Royal Cornwall Show dude! Realistically; I won't make it as I'll be too drunk to drive as a birthday boy...
Apart from the 6th June; I'll be a bit rushed as I'm up Royal Cornwall AND it's my day of birth. I'm not sure the two together are a good mix on the wallet and liver!
I've put kit in the washing machine before and it was fine. Stuff into a laundry bag if there is strappage to stop it getting caught in the drum (or turn inside out if possible). For larger items,...
I'm in this time! Fairly free over the next few months mate
Still going and still a huge TNF seller!!
The padding helps as a kneeling and sit mat no end - I've kept mine in
In Cornwall, fires and bbqs on beaches are a semi norm. I would expect the evidence left is normally the reason for blanket banning. I've never found a beach with enough driftwood for one yet! I'm...
Clear your inbox mate! Tried messaging you about a days work in Penryn if you want it!
Cheers Janso
I have thought about it since doing an intro a while back. My brother made one in the states just to see if he could! I'm unsure if I'd have the space for a forge long term but I hope one day...!!
What a cracking read! So glad it came through mate. Look forward to seeing more in due course and seeing the development of your work, Again, bloody good job and inspiring
Cordura for me; canvas still seems to unfriendly with mildew, trapping moisture and weight. I might be wrong and it's just childhood memory of canvas tents!
If you're feeling fancy, add two compression straps to it like the DD hammocks stuff sack? I would look at making it bigger than the dd tarp sack. If you have a spare issued side pocket stuff sack...
Sorry, I would also mention viewranger; excellent mapping software for phones.
That constellation app is cracking; spent so much time transfixed with that (and dead arms)!
That sounds like a mighty small meths bottle! Didn't think of the smaller container. You could carry a small metal hip flask funnel (see Amazon) but, agreed, it's a one trick pony to carry. When out...
Carry it in a bag mate, Sod's law! Even though I've never had a leak, the o ring will fail when you lest expect. I make sure students empty them out again after use just for peace of mind.
Been there a few times when I was a nipper; huge expanse if I remember; I'm sure there's plenty of quiet spots. Is it forestry commission? I vaguely remember it being plantation? Ill have to google...
David,
Parcel arrived yesterday whilst away at an interview; nicely packaged thank you! Really good pair of needles that will be out to good use. Thanks again mate
You'll miss it mate down the line! Don't sell it!

an interesting read to be sure; quite an insight into wild living as a lifestyle. I'm gonna have to hunt a much cheaper edition! Interesting read of the Amazon reviews, I always forget there are...
Beautiful images there David; I remember it being called corking as well. A large enough cork stopper with a hole drilled through. I think that's a cracking idea for another useful pastime by the...
Nice gesture David, you're a gentleman mate
I think there's a German brand supposedly renowned for its high magnesium content in double sharpeners. The double variety or a carpenters sharpener obviously better for tinder production I think?
Weren't older pencil sharpeners made of magnesium?
Right on! Thanks for the info and the video. I can see the knot now!
