Thanks guys find this forum fascinating so many ideas and advice.
1. Fixed blade knife - A full tang stainless steel divers knife in a plastic sheaf (Not sure of the name but love the fact that it floats in the sheaf)
2. Folding knife - Victornox Swiss Army...
Its a great piece of kit its bulky but not too heavy. Can be found for about £50 on ebay .

Tennier US Army sleep system. The bad parts, It weighs a bit at 5 kilos and the pack size is not small.(arguably I don't need a tent so it evens itself out) but it keeps me warm and dry.
Reminds me of a German Para sleeping bag, I had back in the early nineties as and army cadet !
