That is very sad news indeed.
Though I never met him in person, I really enjoyed the interactions I had with him on this site. I'll miss the photos of his amazing knifework, his friendly greetings of newcomers, and especially his signature sign-off, "ATB don't get eaten by the bears."
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, it means alot to me and my mum. Dad loved this site and you guys and was never more happy than when he was around a camp fire sharing his stories.
I hope you will all be able to come and say bye to dad and join us in raising a glass or two, he would love that, your all welcome.
When we have set a date, i will let you all know.

Sad news...
Tony really was one-of-a-kind - he showed such compassion and generosity to other members here. I may not have met him in person, but his kind stands out as inspiration for all of us. He will be missed, but he will be remembered. :campfire:

hello,
Condolences to the family. He was an excellent craftsman indeed. I am proud too as an owner of one of his axe sheaths/leather work. Gone but not forgotten.. RIP Tony1948.

Bloody hell! That was sudden. He was only on here a few days ago. How did he die?

This is very sad news indeed. He was a great man, always happy to pass on his vast knowledge and tails, a very skilled person, it was a real privilege to know him. I am lucky enough to own a knife crafted by his hand and I will be fortunately enough to recall the good times around the fire in the breakfast club, each time I draw upon it. My deepest condolences to you Kelly and to the rest of the family. Rest in peace Tony.
