Took advantage of the sunshine this afternoon and walked around St Ives Bay, starting at the island, St Ives ending at Godrevy Point, then circling back to Hayle for a pasty and a pint while I waited for the bus home. Had a couple of brews along the way, recce'ed one potential sneaky camping spot and managed to misidentify a couple of wild edibles
Around 16 miles all in and the knee held up fine. All good
Spent the day with good friends Ade and Phil having a wander in the woods and I got the opportunity to practice the bow drill, luckily I had Ade with me on the camera!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

built an area to sit out and carve, knapp and cook in the back garden with timber from trees I have felled..needs a few tweaks but nearly there, sowed some seeds for the garden too
Made some wax pads last night.
Cant believe how long they last!

I went to a local forest on Tuesday to practice a few bushcraft skills.
One of which was tracking and animal sign. Here are a few pics of Roe deer tracks and a tree with teeth marks in it where the deer have stripped the bark to get to the cadmium layer.

Helped fell and log a Californian Redwood.....Sequoia...interesting tree massively spaced growth rings, inch thick spongy bark and a cambium layer nearly the same thickness...lovely grain pattern shame it had to come down really
