I would if I could aford the flight mate . Spent a lot of time up there when I worked offshore. and the White tail sea Eagle is top on my list to see .. I need to get back over the west coast here to see them . Maybe next year. There have been a couple of them here in the Northeast but I missed them everytime they were around lolQuote:

Well, got my knives and fire kit sorted, and my one man cooking system is also coming together, here is what I got allready or on it's way from Hong Kong via that auction site:
I allready have the Karrimor flexi-fuel (I think it's called GoSystems flexi-fuel these days). You may have seen it in one of my first videos.

But that system is messy, and using parafin is prone to contaminate the food...so that is solely for cold wetaher use in my book.
The rest of the time I'll be using this trangia style meths burner and cook stand, also fitting inside the pots.

Now all I need is a good little frying pan, but I have allready found that locally so will pick it up once I can sneak off without SWMBO noticing...lol

The frying pan got a collapsible handle that can be extended by sticking a stick into it, for cooking fover the fire...

Else I have all the trangia pots and pans for when the whole clan goes out :-)
So now It's time to consider my sleeping system...really tempted to get a DD hammock. Just wish i could find a Norwegian supplier, as for now, txes and customs fees are killing the deal for me price wise. There is one alternative in the same-ish price range here, but I think the DD hammocks quallity is supperior to these...
But before that I' will need at least a 3 season sleeping bag to complement my Jerven bag. And boy are those pricey here. i am not tempted by those czheck bedrolls at all....I hate button up sleeping systems after my experiences with the Norwegian Army version. They may be good for summer use, but in winter they are just pure hell I.M.H.O. At least for arctic winter use...I was never warm and comfy in those.
Also need a better large Bergen style pack than I have...so looking for a used Berghaus Cyclops II....
Anyway by next year I should be pretty much sorted to take on this stuff for real, and hopefully have worked myself into som better shape as well, so that i can haul it all more than 50 mters from the car without keeling over...little by little does it :-)

Yeah those kettles are okay. Copper bottom and comes in many different sized from 0,6 to 4 litres :-)
I'll be getting the smallest one I think. And for once I don't have to order it as I found it in my town.
Let me share the headache I have when ordering stuff.
I mainly do it because I can't find it locall, and /or at a price I can afford. The local suppliers are mainly chain stores, and only do high end brand items at premium prices.
Then there is the internet stores, that are for the most part owned by the same chain stores, and has exactly the same items ate the same prices, only now you have to pay
for shipping as well.
This is all protected from competition from abroad by this nifty rule: Any item imported, that cost more than 20£ (200 NOK) including shipping is slammed with a 25% V.A.T.
So lets say I buy an item that cost 15£ + 5.10£ shipping = 20,10£ Add V.A.T 25% = 25,12£.
But on top of that the Norwegian Post, will slam on a 18£ customs clearrance fee (since they are doing that for you). So your 15£ item ends up costing you 43£
This 20£ limit has not been ajusted for inflation since 1974. And Norwegians are masters at finding stuff online that will bring whatever they buy to under 20£ including shipping he he...
Thats why I lobvve Hong Kong and china on Ebay. 99% of the crap we buy here at home at ridicilous prices is made there anyway....
So today, I needed to get a new set of mantles for my gas lantern. The price was 5,8£ in all Norwegian internet stores that had it. And they wanted 10£ for shipping it to me (they usually have a flat rate up to a certain ammount of kilos, does not matter the size or prize of what you order, or what the true shipping price is.
So checked Ebay....2,99US$ plus 4$ shipping to Norway....sold, to the Bumbling fat guy in the fjord. Sorry Norwegian business, I cant afford you.
Blimey fishy i thought our taxes where high ! Any road think this maybe sort of bushy but been watching a group of 4 buzzards that have set up home in my local woods. I can just about see them from my back garden. Sunday took one of the dogs over for a closer look and was lucky enough to see them a bit closer. i know that there not exactly rare but it's the first time I've seen them on my patch. Paul
