Gloves? I can't even remember to bring a hat...I think I'll stick with my bags of Tetleys, even if that also taste like warm water after my 18 months in Sri Lanka...he he
Thanks guys.
Nettle tea is nice, but it's not something I would drink constantly when out. If you use dead nettles, they don't sting you, also the very tips of the nettles don't often sting either. Least that's what I've found in my experiences :)
Glad you like them. I hope I will be in shape to strap my skis on this winter, so that I can make some winter bushcraft vids.
But I tend to get lazy, and cold and snow really saps your energy right out of you. And then we have a couple of months with no light, as the sun is not over the horizon from
latter half of november to en january...
But okay, now I am worrying half a year ahead....lol
The cheap prismatic compass I ordered from a certain auction site arrived the other day. And after playing with it, I realised that a Silva orienteering compass is really all I need.
But just to get it into my blood I''ll continue to play with the prismatic one, so if I ever need to use one, I know how...
The reasion is simply that with the terrain here....very hilly, I will never set a course for long distances. I'll navigate the terrain with a map, and 99% of the time I will only use the compass to orient the map to north. And the paths are never straight line....I don't see much long distance navigating over feature less moorland, off the paths...
Anyway. Like with most things. Youtube is a wonderful instructor :-)
Tested my new molle shoulder bag/ possibles pouch. Fairly happy with it, and if I can keep the weight down it is fairly comfortable to carry everything a need for a few hours out in the local woods.

Been a lazy weekend. It was pissing down with rain all of saturday. Today, mostly dry and a warmish breeze. Wich was fortunate as the boys where camping out in my
little cheap 2 person tent in the garden (If two grown ups are to sleep in there they better have no problem being intimate with each other)...for a few days before.
Of course they left the tent up, so that was all wet. But it dried up, and I finally got it packed properly. It has been hanging up in the on the back wall of the shed since last summer when the boys used it the last time and got it all wet...lol
But it was fairly dry on the inside, so I guess I won't have to re-water proof it this year. It's only a single layer tent. But with the ventilation open in the back, and the entry zip opened a few cm
as far as I can recall it does not suffer badly from condensation problems.
But appart from packing the tent away this afternoon (the boy won't have the use of it for a while because I had to), i've vegetated in front of the puter or the TV all day...just one of those days when I could not motivate myself to go out...
