I might just do that buddy. Have been offered a coleman F1 Lite as a part exchange, mine plus a fiver for that. Will see what happens. Thanks Martin Adam
No Adam, I'm afraid I don't. However, given that situation I'd be inclined to return the thing to whence it came, it sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Alternatively, try to find out who the importers for MSR are in the UK, they should be able to help with spares. Martin
Hi Martin. Just a quick question. Do you know where I can get a replacement seal/washer for an MSR pocket rocket? The seal on the Volcano, I used at the weekend, is pretty poor quality and deforms when it gets warm. A small amount of gas began to leak out yesterday morning, then ignitedk, as a small jet of flame from the junction between canister and stove.
Thanks for the suggestion of asking Ivan, have arranged things with him to stop off at his woods on the 25th March and head out onto the moors from there on the 26th. Just need to finalise the route plan and I'm all set. Adam
I'll look him up and have a think about it, planning on starting at the northern edge of the moor, pretty close to where you set off for your solo, flying past the base of Yes Tor (can't go on it due to nesting restrictions) but think HighWillhays is open. Thanks again Martin Adam
Why not contact Ivan http://www.naturalbushcraft.co.uk/fo....php?2635-Ivan He's got a woodland right on the edge of the moor in which he allows hammocking, tenting, open fires.... in fact, you name it he allows it. We all stayed at his place a few weeks ago and he's a great bloke. He'll probably even come down and spend the night with you. His place is on the south moor, at a place called Ludgate. Anyway, drop him a line and tell him I said hello. Martin
I've had my route cards sat here for a few days now, still trying to decide the final plan. had a plan of booking into a regular campsite and leaving my vehicle with them as well as the route plan, should anything go wrong. I know it will be 7 quid a night for nothing but its safer and if the weather does turn on me I will have a base camp to return to. Does that sound like a good idea?
A video diary would be great. I really enjoyed the process of doing mine and it made me think about what I was doing a little bit more because I wanted to make it more interesting for people to watch.
Looks like the Dartmoor trip is going the way of a solo venture. My lady friend has backed out. Taking the camcorder so might have a crack at a video diary
sounds nippy lol, yes, heading down that way around 25th or 26th with any luck. Adam
