Anyone passing an Asda Supermarket that has Asda own brand 'George' clothing range might want to have a quick look in. I bought a very lightweight padded jacket (polyester padding) with a hood, £20. It only weighs a few onces and I use it under a very lightweight windshirt when I stop for a brew, for me it works brilliantly. It will last 30 seconds anywhere near a fire spark or if you push through the wood in it, but as a mid layer or instant warm kit when you stop, it's a bargain..:)
