Thank god that week is over. Sorry for the lack of communication. First the bad news. I won't be around until Saturday morning, but I will go up the weekend before to drop off the chute and water butt and my 8lt Dutch oven. Some one will have to organise dinner Friday night and breakfast Saturday. Mat can I recommend you for food shopping and chef, unless any one else wishes to pick up the mental of chef. I will bring up dinner Saturday and breakfast for Sunday. I have asked for permission to take the trucks upto but not past the gate to make Tonys life a little less stressful. Now to the painful part the cost of food. I had I'm my mind a budget of £5 per person per night. Sorry to the chaps staying all weekend. Also in the costs is a little thank you to the land owner.
See you all there

Regards
Mark

So, I'd like to get an idea of numbers please folks (and also how I can be in Romford and at work at the same time! :confused2:). We would not want a sausage shortage on Saturday morning and being bereft of bacon would quite simply be intolerable.

So, for Friday tea and Saturday breakfast I believe we will have:-

1. Ehecatl
2. Plus 1
3. F0rm4t
4. Dazza190
5. Bopdude

Tony, I assume that you and Dave will self-cater?

Any dietary restrictions I need to know about? Any specific requests - sorry Paul but Lamb is not in season and I wouldn't do it if Mark wasn't there.

I'll probably do a chilli but none of that mince rubbish - only manly chunks of beef!

Cheers,

I am aiming for between 12 and 13 o'clock but I've got the M1, M25 (each with road works) and Dartford Crossing to contend with so no guarantees as to exactly when I'll be there.

I shall phone Terry and remind him to make the scaffold joiner available with the keys.

Please note that my key is to the field rather than the "car park". I'd guess that Terry's preference would be that the majority of vehicles use the car park entrance in case the field is a bit boggy or gets boggy.

Anyway, I bagsy the two oak trees in the corner of the field

My main note from the meet was to be careful what you talk about when Mark is sat between you and the person with whom you are conversing. The normally jovial and laid-back Mark changed. I think he said something along the lines of: "Will you two stop talking about (word edited out to keep within forum rules) sewing machines! This is a bushcraft meeting not an outdoor knitting convention!" :happy-clapping:

Great meet guys even though I couldn't stay on for the second night. I'll try and get some pictures posted very soon.

Hi guys, sorry about the late ( very late ) pictures, I've only just dug my camera out for an overnighter when it dawned on me, so, here goes, one first for testing purposes.

Keep an eye out in the following groups: southeast natural bushcraft meet and Kent Natural Bushcrafters.

The meets are either in Romford or Yalding.

any of these coming up in the next month or 2?

i think it will be good to meet a few of you guys and share some knowledge...

plus i am yet to attend any of these meets...

happy to share fuel, but i can get the missus to drop me down and pick me up so i dont have to leave a car sitting about for a few days if no one is coming from my way...

i live a 2 minute walk from the m25 at london colney if anyone passes by that way...

but id like a meet before the weather warms up... ( i find colder weather gives a real chance to see gear that would otherwise be left behind in warm weather)

obvs a summer meet is on the books for me too...

i would organise a meet, but i dont know where the site would be so best left for someone in the know the organise one

Hi Luke.

I suspect the next one will be in March or thereafter. There's a strong possibility that I'd be coming past you and if so it wouldn't be a problem picking you up, however both sites have off road parking if you took your own vehicle.

Cheers,
