What is sleeping hot/cold?

Been looking around a few forums and sleeping bag reviews and they all seem to mention/ask if the person sleeps hot or cold.

What is this exactly?

Reason I'm asking is because I'm looking at getting a new bag and like the reviews I've read on the Challenger Lite 200

Basically at night are you generally hot in bed or cold? I.e. Do you need your feet out even in winter, or need a 15tog duvet even in summer? It's that simple.

Ah ok thanks. Guess I'm a semi-cold sleeper then

No worries. I tend to be warm but prefer the option so thick bag with zip open works for me! T^
