Guys, I am really sorry but I have messed up. I am gonna be away that weekend. I should of checked Janes calender.
I can do any weekend in february, but I realise I have now messed up your plans and for that I am really sorry, but I cannot get out of this trip away on the 25th.
Would it be best to do a poll to see what weekend is best for everyone..?

From UK weather forecast.. "A very deep area of low pressure is forecast to hit the United Kingdom this coming Saturday with wind speeds expected to exceed 60mph inland with gusts possibly exceeding 80mph across Western coasts and Hills"

Been speaking with Glen n said I would ask you guys what you think. Should we postpone..?

Ummmmmmm...

I will go with whatever you good folk decide. I camped out in the last one, but being only two of us for an overnighter, it was somewhat easier than a communal meet where we like to have the 'chute and a decent fire.

GlenM

It's hard to judge but the last thing I'd want is People's gear getting damaged just for a night around a sideways fire!.........haven't had one of them since the last trip to Ivan's on Dartmoor.

I was working a bit further down the valley today in next door farm. I had a fire going to clear up all the brash from the hedge I have layed.. The wind was so strong all the flames were going sideways. I could stand on top of the fire (big fire) and not get hot. The weather looks worse for saturday than today or tomorrow, so I think the best thing is to postpone..

Next most popular date was the 22nd feb, so lets try again then eh.. Woohoo for Martin :0)

It was an "interesting" night in the yurt mate.. Popped into Looe this morning to see the high tide, which was fun. Then went down to the bay, where the weather has done its best to smash everything up..
See you on the 22nd guys.. Will send you directions Chubbs :0)

Anyone want any wood for spoons or whatever..? I been taking out a load of trees while laying a hedge near here, so if anyone coming to the meet wants any green wood, I can get you ash, sycamore, hazel, blackthorn or elm.
I am only gonna be able to get them this week as I will be done there.

I really need to sort out my homebrew stocks. As I don't drink a lot now I have plenty that needs sampling ;).

There is about five gallons of Italian Borollo here somewhere along with a load of white. The white is bottled but I'm sure you won't all mind pouring your own red from the demijohn !!.

Whats doing about food? Is a communal brew on the go? If so there is an excellent chef attending but obviously numbers need confirming.

One concern is the weather again, and maybe it would be easier to cater individually in case it needs postponing to another date.

The weather doesn't look too bad for the weekend though sunday may be a bit wet n windy. Certainly nothing forecast like we have had recently..
I have not spoken to Glen about a group meal but he was keen to cook.
I have got us plenty of wood, 9 different types of tree I think.
I will be around from about lunchtime on friday :0)

Got a bit worried earlier. Dropped my van in a big hole, one hell of a bang, bits fell off and the engine started running funny. Thought that was my weekend over as the wife needs her car.

Got it running though and should be ok. Got a collection of bits in the back of the van that need putting back on though!

Thats Cornwall and any other mining town for you Chubbs, 5 miles up the road from me there was a lot of lead mining since the romans came and shafts are always appearing there, fortunately its a sparsely populated area. Youve got to be carefull in the woods there though !

Hey Guy's,

I will sort out the food for Saturday night but I need a rough idea of numbers please? I'm thinking a nice big Beef or Venison stew with lots of dumplings and maybe a fruit cobbler for pudding.

Any one who don't like that......................Tough!..............you have to sort out your own :)

Thanks for a great weekend guys, it was a cracker. Was great to see Jus and Jonny again. Had a walk down to Talland Bay while we were there. A propper little rugged bay which was once well known as a landing spot for smugglers. It has a shingle beach which stones are a light purple colour, coming from the large seams over in the unstable cliffs.

Weather wasn't too bad. A bit cold at times but also blowing a bit. most of the night I was rocking in my hammock like a baby in a cradle !!.

Glen, It was great to meet you for the first time and the food was excellent. Especially the Cobbler and Cornish Clotted Cream, which was to die for and could have graced the menu of any decent restaurant.

Jonny made some great spoons, he makes it look easy. I spent quite a while at times watching how he did it and I've now come home with a better idea how to make carving easier and quicker.

Very kind words, thanks Jonny.

It will keep in that container for a few months without a problem. If you are going to save some of it, bottle it and keep the light away from it, although I guess it won't last forever !! but I will have a little drop of the decent stuff ready for the RV.
