To anyone wondering you can take a YouTube URL which looks like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULswdyW3F8k

and then encase it in tags which look like this:
[ video ] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULswdyW3F8k [ / video ]

And then it will embed the video into the forum thread :) ... I have used spaces in the tags in the above example but leave those out and it will work.

I just copy the youtube link, click on the video link on the quick reply toolbar and paste the link there, adds the tags for you
