What bottles do those of you who use alcohol stoves carry your Meths in? I'm looking for something small that'll do a few decent burns, only for short half day hike purposes. Have a Maxpedition Jumbo and want something small enough to fit in the front pocket. Been scanning the shelves on various visits to the Supermarket but haven't come across any that suit. Seen Ashley use Energy Shock bottles on one of his vids, great idea but can I find any? Nope. Anyway, thanks in advance.

Measure your pocket and go back the supermarket. Jars, bottles anything with a screw on top. There's got too be what you need.

Thanks for your reply. Wasn't really looking at glass. It's a possibility I suppose but didn't really want anything breakable in the bag.

Have a look on eBay for the bottles they keep tattoo ink in. Twist to and well made.

You can find them as individuals too.

Go to the pound shop I got some about a month ago otherwise most petrol stations sell the energy drinks in the small bottle.

ASDA do a stainless steel hip flask, that's what I use, cost £2.50 on the roll back promotion thing. Just make sure you mark it up well so as not to get confused.

I use those small 0.25 litre plastic Red Bull bottles. Perfect for me :-)

Marker pen with top coat of clear nail varnish is good for this.

I've been using small oil sample bottles (for short trips) which work a treat. Also urine sample bottles do the same trick.
For accuracy and less spillage the small bottles of contact lens fluid are the biz as the tiny little hole lets you be as generous or thrifty as you like when filling /priming etc + the fact they are transparent so no 'shake 'n' hope'.
A good example

Yeah, exactly, I've accidentally drank a number of things in my life; namely a good glug of Vegetable Oil that I took camping once in a drinking bottle. When you've had a few, you soon forget it's not water in your drinking vessel! I certainly don't recommend it as a beverage. I'll only make that mistake once!

I've found the Vargo fuel bottles to be cheap enough, easy spout for priming a trangia etc.

I've also got a couple of rosewater and glycerin bottles, a few bowlers use the contents for a grip on the bowls and I get the empties. These need filling with a printer ink cartridge refilling syringe (or the like) though!

I use shampoo bottles: a small, 2 oz bottle for short wanderings and a larger 4 oz for longer outings.
