Funnily you should say that. Charlotte was running around using it as a wand.
Just finished sanding an oiling.

What oil do you use Mike ?, it was a question that cropped up while we were whittling spoons on sunday while waiting for the kettle to boil ( "my first spoon" - steve working as instructor ) someone had
said he had used tung oil but I thought that and similar types of oil were not FOOD SAFE - I have heard of walnut oil being used but I thought this was a good time to ask someone with more experience.
Cheers Bri

Might sound a bit daft but I've always used olive oil.

and may the birch gods smite ye down.......................
you can use any food derived oil, but avoid "nut" oils if you're allergic, veg oil is usually a safe bet...................

In woodturning groups I was always told not to use olive oil as it turns rancid. I generally use sunflower oil as it is with me when in the woods.
