we cant really say where to go, most places are private land or part of a trust... just try to find somewhere out of the way, nice and secluded... set off late-ish, leave early.. dont get eaten by the bears

What about Rivington pike !

Tockholes out darwen way is better. If your gonna go out around rivi. Lead mines and anglezarke are less used than the pike itself.

Walker fold woods near smithills is another.

Closer to home. Arley woods by Wigan golf course isn't massively used.

Is Arley woods the one behind worthington lakes ? I'm gonna go and have a look tomorrow and maybe a trip over rivvi and see how I go

Was oretty quiet there. Gets rammes at weekends. And now that all the rhodey has been cut. Your quite exposed everywhere. :(

Yeah it is. There is a good flat spot just off the canal before you get to Aberdeen bridge. Are vaguely visible from the Canal, but as many of the bargefolk use it for camp fires nobody apears to mind. Otherwise you can go further down the slope nearer the river. I walk my mutts down there most nights. So let me know if your about?

Gets rammes ? Not been up there in 25 yrs, All been cut back now has it ? thats a shame in some sense and good in another. Spent many a night round Rivi in my youth, Ah well all things change.
