Hi All!

I'm looking for a rifle bag for my Gamo CFX and wondered if anyone has a decent one for sale or knows of anywhere to get one from cheap? Watching a few on that auction site but not sure of the quality..

Cheers!

Steve.

Try Mole Valley Farmers in South Molton. Got a cheap one from there to keep the cooking tripods in.

I've got several of these and they show no signs of falling to bits yet. One of them has given at least 6 years service - http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/mvf/store/products/david-nickerson-padded-gunslip

Cool, MVF is just up the road so I shall try there, my thought exactly with the auction site! Rather have one that'll last!

Jus, do you know of any permissions in the area? Saw a place online last night near ilfracombe. Just after rabbits and pigeons really!

I haven't been out shooting for a couple of years now really so well out of touch with it. I used to have a lad working for me that had permission for most of the area but that was because he knew most of the farmers and has a very good reputation. Lost touch with him in recent times so can't help much I'm afraid.

Best advice is to go around the Farms. Look half decent, not like you've been pulled through a hedge backwards :) and ask. It also helps if mention that you are a member of BASC as you get 3rd party liability insurance with membership.
If you offer to blat rats as well you may get a better reception

keep up with the laws on air rifles mate, things are strict, fire arms offenses dont go down to well, if your gun has a magazine and its in the rifle (empty) your still classed as having a loaded fire arm, may have changed but that was 5 years in 6x8 box and if you have pellets in that magazine add a year for each pellet, is what i was told by a local copper and a judge that works in the courts near me at our local range, just a word of warning

the law changes is what made me get rid of mine

good luck with finding a permission to shoot on

Simple remedy.....do a full unload before putting it back in its bag . A weapon should always be cleared before leaving the firing point, whether its on a range or on your permission.

I used to use a fishing rod holdall before getting a proper rifle slip, worked well and no one ever knew... :) even carried it on buses in the days before I had a car!
