Poncho Liner

I was thinking of using a poncho liner in a hammock instead of a sleeping bag, since the liner can be used as a duvet, making it easier to get in and out.
Am I on to something do you think?
Anyone used one?
I do realise that poncho liners aren't as thick as some sleeping bags, but if you had to give them a warmth rating (in Seasons), what would you think?
Is it just a summer option only (I realise they won't be up to mid-winter)?

Not quite answering your question, but I made an underquilt for my hammock using one. Kept me plenty warm with a 1 season sleeping bag (open and used as a quilt) this summer. Im sure the poncho liner would be adequate as a top quilt also.

I have used poncho liners and would say that they are not as warm as some would think, the British issue desert sleeping bag is warmer all though it is twice the size and weight, hope this helps.

Not much good I wouldn't think in this country but if you are going to use one get a genuine issue one, they are only meant as a liner and need the poncho to cut the wind out, there good in the jungle where its hot at night

My input would be that they are very slippy and would probably be on the floor in the morning, confirm not very warm
