Thanks guys,the top is a peace of wood I had left over from a knife handle and the bottom is buffalo horn.

very nice Tony, can you remember what the wood is?? it looks lovely with the contrast of sap and heart wood, looks a little like tiger maple, but it has open pours that leads me to believe its something else

HI Madz,The wood on the fire stick thingee is wot was left when I made one of my knifes.9788 it was a toast rack I got from the booty made in the USofA.9789.It's 3or4 differant woods stuck together.

ah i see, couldn't make that out from the picture, certainly does not look like joined pieces, very nice knife and steel there Tony, heirloom material

Done a bit more homework on some fire thingees over the last2-3 week.Took the plastic handles off and replaced them with some bone and antler 1008410085I adid a bit of lenth to the second one downe,youcan see I'v pluged the hole with a bit of brass bar,you can hold them in you'r hand a lot better now.
