Working a Primus stove?

How do you work a Primus stove? I have just got a nice one in brass, and I don't want to blow it up!

Thanks for that Brian, have cooked baked beans on it for lunch! I used a mixture of white spirit and turpentine substitute.

It sounded like a jet trying to take off!
