Was out there again today. But did not get out the door until noon. So that meant just a couple of hours and it would be dark.
The familly was suposed to go out, but there was a hint of rain in the air, and asians melt if they are hit by water falling out of the sky,
so I had to brave the darkness alone yet again....

Anyway I show off a piece of kit that I have that is pretty good, and keeps your feet dry and warm even in wet snow.
And if someone could tell me what those would be called in English, that would be nice :-)

Not come across those before. The closest thing I can think of are waders used by anglers but they are generally just oversized wellies and not insulated.

I know that the UK army has something similar. They adopted a lot of Norwegian style kit over the years.
Here is a civillian version...but does not have the ruberized lower part.

Anyway, when on stag on winter excerzises I always pulled these on. Kept my feet toast in -30 celcius.
Only wore them today because the snow was wet.

@4:27 is exactly why Ashley taught me to pull the rod back rather than push the knife forwards. :)

Nice trip out, Rune. Dark in the middle of the afternoon...how do you guys get anything done? You must have to take your spoonful of cod liver oil or a vitamin D pill for breakfast, too.

Yeah, I know. Been a couple of months since I used that thing, so I forgot.

Two full spoons of cod liver oil a day. Especially for my wife and step kids who are from Asia. They can't maintain enough vitamin D. Thats a problem fior all dark skinned people in a Northern Climate in winter.

Else we are very good at artificial lightning up here. And with the snow acting as a natural reflector, it actually does not feel that dark if the moon is up...people have more trouble with the midnight sun.

Nice video, I have some shin length over boots for motor cycling but they wouldn't last long on a good walk,

hello,
Similar to the British Forces issue over boot. I've also heard them
referred to as 'Wellos' (spelling) very similar to Yeti Attack over boot/gaiters.
Regards
David
