I wish we could get some too. We've not had any to talk about since November. So everything is ice out there. The little runt got skis for x-mas, but have not had them on yet.
I guess I have to drive up into the mountains to find some soft snow for him to get them under him :-)

Look's like a very enjoyable day, but I wouldn't write off the snow yet there's still time.:o

I was in Ireland visiting an army friend and seeing the sights back in the mid 90'ies. Hired a car and drove all over that island. I was just North of Sligo when it started to snow. This was in March
Anyway, I was thinking...I am Norwegian and can drive on snow, no problem. After a few kilomters it dawned on me that all the other drivers on the road was Irish....lol
I turned and headed for Killearney!

Nice one fish. I did the same, though less of a woodland walk and more reservoir-ish. We looped three reservoirs on Dartmoor: http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/117286408

I'll post photos when I get them off my phone and my son's camera. Not sure if posting them here is hijacking your thread... :ashamed:

Had an enjoyable afternoon walking up at the sheepwash, although it was rammed with dog walkers so no opportunity to break out the Kelly kettle and getting parked was challenging! Might need to find somewhere less popular and discreet for our bushcraft needs!

I've never had anyone challenge me about using my storm kettle. After all, I'm the psycho with the knife - ain't nobody gonna f... with this nutter! :D

Jokes aside, if it's a safe place to do it, I'll ask any "challengers" what their objection is - after I've offered them a brew to settle them. I find people are far less likely to have a go when I start with a friendly offer of some tea or coffee. :)

I've had an unusual day on the moors and in the woods today....i played hide and seek with nb'er SimonB and I won all the time although I do have a secret weapon

Cracking cloud inversion first thing but remained overcast with a chilling wind on the moor. Found a skull which my son was very impressed with. Whats more important is we all got some exercise got outdoors and honed our skills

Hey Bernie, I was looking at that area on the maps as I have been working in the area recently and wondered what the reservoirs would be like for a possible overnighter. Whats your opinion of them?
